More than just a Lumber Store!

Anderson Lumber Company is deeply rooted in the local community, and that’s why giving back is so important to us. From supporting schools and small businesses to championing causes like Tailgating Against Cancer, we’re proud to stand alongside the people and organizations that make East Tennessee home.

In 2011, our family experienced a profound loss when Stephen York Coleman passed away at just 37 years old after a courageous three-year battle with brain cancer. Stephen was our son, our brother, and our best friend. His journey opened our eyes to the critical need for specialized cancer care in East Tennessee, where many families cannot afford to travel long distances for treatment.

To honor Stephen’s memory, we founded Tailgating Against Cancer, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding a fellowship in medical oncology at The University of Tennessee Medical Center and the UT Graduate School of Medicine. Since its inception, the organization has raised more than $800,000 and currently supports six doctors in the program—helping ensure that families in our region have greater access to life-saving care close to home.
